Steps to Convert ICS to OFT via Java
Java programmers can easily convert ICS file to OFT in just a few lines of code.
- Load the ICS file “MyFile.ics” to be converted into an Appointment object using Appointment.load method.
- Save the loaded Appointment object as an MSG file in a ByteArrayOutputStream “msgStream” using the save method with the AppointmentSaveFormat specifying MSG format.
- Create a ByteArrayInputStream object “inputStream” from the byte array of the ByteArrayOutputStream.
- Load the MapiMessage from the input stream.
- Set MsgSaveOptions with the save type as OutlookMessageFormatUnicode and set ‘saveAsTemplate’ to true.
- Save the MapiMessage as an OFT file “SavedFile.oft” using the save method with the MsgSaveOptions .
