Steps to Convert ICS to OST via Java
Java programmers can easily convert ICS file to OST in just a few lines of code.
- Load the ICS file “MyFile.ics” to be converted into an Appointment object using Appointment.load method.
- Save the Appointment object as a MSG file using ByteArrayOutputStream named msgStream.
- Open an OST file “SavedFile.ost” as a PersonalStorage object.
- Get a calendar folder named “Appointments” from the PersonalStorage object using getPredefinedFolder(StandardIpmFolder.Appointments) . Store the folder information in a FolderInfo object named ‘calendarFolder’.
- Convert the MSG file from ByteArrayOutputStream to a MapiMessage object.
- Add the MapiMessage object to the calendar folder using addMessage() method.
