Steps to Convert MBOX to EML via Java
Java programmers can easily convert MBOX file to EML in just a few lines of code.
- Create a new MboxrdStorageReader object called ‘reader’ passing the path to the file “sourceFile.mbox” and setting the boolean parameter to false indicating that it won’t append the Mboxrd storage.
- Iterate through each message in the MBOX file using reader.getTotalItemsCount() as the condition for the loop.
- Use the readNextMessage() method of the ‘reader’ to read the next message inside the loop and store it in a MapiMessage object called ‘message’.
- Use the save() method to save the message as an EML file with the file name “outputMessage” and default options for saving EML files SaveOptions.getDefaultEml() .
