HTML Textarea Generator FAQ

1. What is the difference between the placeholder and value fields?

Placeholder text is a temporary hint displayed only while the textarea is empty. The value is the control’s initial content and can be edited by the user. A placeholder is not submitted as form data.

2. Do rows and columns set the exact rendered dimensions?

They define the textarea’s intrinsic character-based size. A webpage’s CSS can override the final width and height, so use CSS when the control must follow a responsive layout.

3. Do minimum and maximum length settings truncate the text?

No. The minlength and maxlength attributes participate in form validation; they do not shorten the initial text generated between the textarea tags. Application code should still validate submitted data on the server.

4. Does the spellcheck setting guarantee that spelling suggestions appear?

No. It declares whether the textarea should be checked, but the final behavior can also depend on the browser, language support, and user preferences.

5. How can I add initial text containing several lines?

The generator’s Value field accepts one line. After copying the result, place line breaks directly between the <textarea> tags, or include newline characters in the C# text assigned to TextContent.
