Convert POTX to POTM in PHP

Aspose.Slides for PHP via Java can load a PowerPoint POTX template and save it in the macro-enabled POTM format without Microsoft PowerPoint.

Call save with SaveFormat::Potm to create the POTM file. POTM can store VBA projects, but conversion does not add macros that are not present in the source POTX template.

You can install the library from Composer using the following command:

Console/Terminal

> composer require aspose/slides

    $presentation->save("output.potm", SaveFormat::Potm);

    $presentation->dispose();

How to Convert POTX to POTM in PHP

These are the steps to convert a POTX file to POTM using PHP.

  1. Load the POTX file with the Presentation class.

  2. Call save with the output file path and SaveFormat::Potm.

  3. The POTM file is written to the specified path.

System Requirements

Before running the PHP conversion example, make sure that you have the following prerequisites.

  1. Install PHP 7 or later, add the PHP directory to the system PATH, and set allow_url_include to On in the php.ini file.
  2. Install JRE 8 and set the JAVA_HOME environment variable to the installed JRE directory.
  3. Install and configure Apache Tomcat with PHP/Java Bridge as described in the installation guide .
