Aspose.Slides for PHP via Java can load a PowerPoint PPS slide show and save it as a macro-enabled POTM template without Microsoft PowerPoint.

Call save with SaveFormat::Potm to create the POTM file.

You can install the library from Composer using the following command:

Console/Terminal

> composer require aspose/slides

$presentation = new Presentation("input.pps");
try {
    $presentation->save("output.potm", SaveFormat::Potm);
} finally {
    $presentation->dispose();
}
 

How to Convert PPS to POTM in PHP

These are the steps to convert a PPS file to POTM using PHP.

  1. Load the PPS file with the Presentation class.

  2. Call save with the output file path and SaveFormat::Potm.

  3. The POTM file is written to the specified path.

System Requirements

Before running the PHP conversion example, make sure that you have the following prerequisites.

  1. Install PHP 7 or later, add the PHP directory to the system PATH, and set allow_url_include to On in the php.ini file.
  2. Install JRE 8 and set the JAVA_HOME environment variable to the installed JRE directory.
  3. Install and configure Apache Tomcat with PHP/Java Bridge as described in the installation guide .
