## Convert PPT to PPTX in Python

[*Aspose.Slides for Python via .NET*](/slides/python-net/) lets you convert PPT files to PPTX presentations programmatically. Load the file into a `Presentation` instance and call `Presentation.save` with `SaveFormat.PPTX`.

The API saves the presentation in the PowerPoint Open XML Presentation format. You can test the conversion in your [browser](https://products.aspose.app/slides/conversion/ppt-to-pptx) or use the Python API in your application.

Install the library from [PyPI](https://pypi.org/project/aspose-slides/) by using the following command:

## How to Convert PPT to PPTX in Python

Follow these steps to convert a PPT file to PPTX using Python.

Load the PPT file into a `Presentation` instance.

Call `Presentation.save` with the output path and `SaveFormat.PPTX`.

The presentation is saved as a PPTX file at the specified path.

## System Requirements

Before running the Python conversion sample, make sure your environment meets these requirements.

- Microsoft Windows, macOS, or 64-bit Linux (see the [system requirements](https://docs.aspose.com/slides/python-net/system-requirements/)).
- Python 3.5 or later.
- Aspose.Slides for Python via .NET installed in your environment.
