# Convert PPTM to POTX in Python

## Convert PPTM to POTX in Python

[*Aspose.Slides for Python via .NET*](/slides/python-net/) lets you convert PPTM presentations to POTX files programmatically. Load the source file into a `Presentation` instance and save it by using `Presentation.save` with `SaveFormat.POTX`.

POTX is the macro-free PowerPoint Open XML template format. Because POTX cannot store VBA projects, macros from the source PPTM file are not retained in the output. You can test the conversion in your [browser](https://products.aspose.app/slides/conversion) or use the Python API in your application.

Install the library from [PyPI](https://pypi.org/project/aspose-slides/) by using the following command:

## How to Convert PPTM to POTX in Python

Follow these steps to convert a PPTM file to POTX using Python.

Load the PPTM file into a `Presentation` instance.

Call `Presentation.save` with the output file path and `SaveFormat.POTX`.

The presentation is written to the specified POTX file.

## System Requirements

Before running the Python conversion sample, make sure your environment meets these requirements.

- Microsoft Windows, macOS, or 64-bit Linux (see the [system requirements](https://docs.aspose.com/slides/python-net/system-requirements/)).
- Python 3.5 or later.
- Aspose.Slides for Python via .NET installed in your environment.
