## Convert PPTM to PPTX in Python

[*Aspose.Slides for Python via .NET*](/slides/python-net/) lets you convert PPTM presentations to PPTX files programmatically. Load the source file into a `Presentation` instance and save it by using `Presentation.save` with `SaveFormat.PPTX`.

PPTX is the macro-free PowerPoint Open XML Presentation format. Because PPTX files cannot store VBA macros, use PPTM when macros from the source presentation must be retained. You can test the conversion in your [browser](https://products.aspose.app/slides/conversion) or use the Python API in your application.

Install the library from [PyPI](https://pypi.org/project/aspose-slides/) by using the following command:

## How to Convert PPTM to PPTX in Python

These are the steps to convert a PPTM file to PPTX using Python.

Load the PPTM file into a `Presentation` instance.

Call `Presentation.save` with the output file path and `SaveFormat.PPTX`.

The presentation is written to the specified PPTX file.

## System Requirements

Before running the Python conversion sample, make sure your environment meets these requirements.

- Microsoft Windows, macOS, or 64-bit Linux (see the [system requirements](https://docs.aspose.com/slides/python-net/system-requirements/)).
- Python 3.5 or later.
- Aspose.Slides for Python via .NET installed in your environment.
