Get Started with .NET File Automation APIs

Install from command line as nuget install Aspose.Total or install directly from Package Manager Console of Visual Studio.

Alternatively, get the offline MSI installer or DLLs in a ZIP file from downloads .

Convert PDF File to IMAGE in a Single File via C#

Using the API, you can also convert PDF file to IMAGE to a single image file. In order to convert all pages, you can first render your PDF document to one TIFF file and after that you can export TIFF file to IMAGE. You can open the input file using Document class and create Resolution, TiffSettings, & TIFF device objects. You can get a single TIFF image using Process method of TiffDevice class. Finally, you can load TIFF file using Image class and save it to JPEG2000 format using Save method.

Convert PDF to IMAGE With Watermark via C#

Using the API, you can also convert PDF file to IMAGE with watermark in your IMAGE document. In order to add a watermark, you can first render your PDF document to JPEG and add a watermark in it. To demonstrate the operation, you can load your converted JPEG image, add transformations using an object of Matrix class and draw a string as the watermark on the image surface using the Graphics class’ DrawString method. After adding the watermark in it, you can save the JPEG as JPEG2000 format. Below is a code example that demonstrates how to add a diagonal watermark to your document.

Convert & Rotate PDF File to IMAGE via C#

Using the API, you can also rotate the output IMAGE image as per your needs. The Image.RotateFlip method can be used to rotate the image by 90/180/270-degrees and flip the image horizontally or vertically. You can specify the type of rotation and flip to apply to the image. In order to rotate and flip the image you can load the converted JPEG image using the factory method exposed by Image class and call the Image.RotateFlip method while specifying the appropriate RotateFlipType .

What is PDF File Format?

PDF, or Portable Document Format, is a file format designed for presenting documents in a manner that remains consistent across various software applications, hardware devices, and operating systems. Each PDF file contains a comprehensive description of a fixed-layout document, encompassing text, fonts, graphics, and other necessary information for accurate display. Initially developed by Adobe Systems in the early 1990s, PDF served as a means to share computer documents while preserving text formatting and inline images.

PDF files are typically generated using software like Adobe Acrobat or similar PDF creation tools. Presently, PDF has become an open standard governed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). This standardization ensures compatibility and interoperability across different platforms and systems. To view PDF files, users can utilize free software such as Adobe Reader or other PDF viewers available.

One of the significant advantages of PDF is its platform independence, allowing seamless viewing and printing on a wide range of devices and operating systems. Regardless of the hardware or software used, the document’s layout and content will remain intact. This universal accessibility has contributed to the popularity of PDF as a preferred format for sharing and distributing documents across diverse platforms and systems.

PDF’s capability to encapsulate a complete document, including text, fonts, graphics, and formatting, makes it a reliable choice for various applications. Whether it’s sharing important reports, publishing e-books, distributing forms, or delivering professional presentations, PDF ensures consistent document rendering and reliable preservation of content across different environments.

What is IMAGE File Format?

Image files are computer files specifically designed to store digital images. These files come in various types, such as bitmap, JPEG, GIF, and TIFF, each with its own characteristics and applications. The file type determines the software program used to open and view the image.

Bitmap files, also known as raster images, consist of a grid of individual pixels, each assigned a specific color value. When viewed from a distance, these pixels blend together to create a cohesive image. Bitmap files tend to be large in size due to the amount of detailed information they contain.

JPEG files are compressed image files that utilize a mathematical algorithm to reduce file size while preserving image quality. This makes them ideal for storing and sharing photos online, as they can be efficiently compressed without significant loss of quality.

GIF files, another type of compressed image format, employ a different algorithm than JPEG. GIF files can store more colors and produce better image quality, but they are limited to a maximum of 256 colors, making them less suitable for storing high-quality images. GIF files are commonly used for animated images and simple graphics.

TIFF files, on the other hand, are uncompressed image files. They do not utilize any compression algorithms, resulting in larger file sizes compared to other image formats. TIFF files are typically used for storing high-quality images that require editing or printing.

Each image file format serves different purposes and is suited for specific use cases. Bitmap files are detailed but large, JPEG files offer efficient compression, GIF files are suitable for animations and simple graphics, and TIFF files provide uncompressed, high-quality images.
