How to Convert EPS to BMP

Python developers can easily load & convert EPS files to BMP in just a few lines of code.

  1. Define the paths to the input PDF file and output directory using path.join() function.
  2. Create a PsLoadOptions object to specify how the .eps document should be loaded, allowing for more control over the loading process.
  3. Use the Document class from aspose.pdf library to open and load the input .eps document file, passing in the created load options and specifying the input file path.
  4. Create a Resolution object with a specified DPI value (in this case, 300) and then create a BmpDevice object based on this resolution, which will be used to process the PDF pages as BMP images.
  5. Initialize two counters: page_count and pages_count, with page_count starting from 1 and pages_count set to the total number of pages in the loaded document.
  6. If the total number of pages is greater than 4, set the pages_count variable to 4 for limiting the processing to only the first 4 pages.
  7. Use a while loop to iterate through each page in the loaded document, starting from page_count and going up to the total number of pages, and process each page using the BmpDevice object.
  8. For each processed page, create an output BMP file stream (with a filename including the page count) in write mode (‘w’), and save the processed image to this stream.
  9. Close the output BMP file stream after saving the processed image to it, ensuring that system resources are released.
  10. After processing each page, increment the page_count variable to move on to the next page in the document.

Here is an example that demonstrates how to convert EPS to BMP in Python. You can follow these easy steps to convert your EPS file to BMP format. First, upload your EPS file and then simply save it as a BMP file. You can use fully qualified filenames for both EPS reading and BMP writing. The output BMP content and formatting will be identical to the original EPS document.

Output format:

BMP

Output file:

import aspose.pdf as apdf
from io import FileIO
from os import path
path_infile = path.join(indir, infile)
path_outfile = path.join(outDir, outfile)

load_options = apdf.PsLoadOptions()

# Open .eps document with created load options
document = apdf.Document(path_infile, load_options)

# Create Resolution object
resolution = apdf.devices.Resolution(300)
device = apdf.devices.BmpDevice(resolution)

page_count = 1
pages_count = len(document.pages)
if len(document.pages) > 4:
    pages_count = 4

while page_count <= pages_count:
    image_stream = FileIO(path_outfile + str(page_count) + "_out.bmp", "w")
    # Convert a particular page and save the image to stream
    device.process(document.pages[page_count], image_stream)

    # Close stream
    image_stream.close()
    page_count = page_count + 1

print(infile + " converted into " + outfile)
