How to merge JPEG to PDF via Python

Python for .NET developers can easily load & merge JPEG files to PDF in just a few lines of code.

  1. Create a list of FileIO objects that open each input file from the dataDir directory in binary read mode (‘rb’). These streams are used to convert images into BMP format.
  2. Use the merge_images method with the following parameters: input_images_streams (list of FileIO objects), output_image_format (ImageFormat.BMP), merge_mode (ImageMergeMode.CENTER), horizontal (2 columns), and vertical (2 rows). This creates a single BMP image by merging all input images.
  3. Initialize a new PDF document, add a new page to the document, create a rectangle covering the entire page dimensions (0, 0, width, height), and insert the merged BMP image into the center of the page using the rectangle as both the image rect and bounding box.
  4. Export the final PDF document to the specified output file path (path_outfile).
  5. Output a message indicating how many files were successfully merged into the specified outfile and their destination.

Here is an example that demonstrates how to merge JPEG to PDF in Python. Combine multiple documents into a single file with ease. If you are developing code in Python, this task can be simpler than it sounds. You can use fully qualified filenames for both JPEG reading and PDF writing. Check out this Python example that show how to merge multiple documents of either the same or different file types into one file using Python

Output file:

import aspose.pdf as apdf

from io import FileIO
from os import path
infiles_streams = [
    FileIO(path.join(self.data_dir, infile), "rb") for infile in infiles
]
path_outfile = path.join(self.data_dir, outfile)

image = apfacades.PdfConverter.merge_images(
    input_images_streams=infiles_streams,
    output_image_format=apdfdrw.ImageFormat.BMP,
    merge_mode=apfacades.ImageMergeMode.CENTER,
    horizontal=2,
    vertical=2,
)
document = apdf.Document()
page = document.pages.add()
rectangle = apdf.Rectangle(0, 0, 595, 842, True)
page.add_image(image_stream=image, image_rect=rectangle, bbox=rectangle)
document.save(path_outfile)

print(str(infiles) + " merged into " + outfile)
