Steps of the LaTeX to XPS Conversion in Java
Aspose.TeX makes it easy for the developers to transform LaTeX files to XPS in just a few lines of code.
- Create an object of the TeXOptions class.
- To set the space, or area, where TeX output will be written, set the file system working directory for the output using the OutputWorkingDirectory property.
- Initialize save options for the XPS format using the XpsSaveOptions class.
- Create an object of the TeXJob class and run the LaTeX to XPS conversion using the run() method.
System Requirements
Aspose.TeX for Java is supported on all major operating systems. Just make sure that you have the following prerequisites:
- J2SE 8.0 (1.8) or above.
// Create conversion options for Object LaTeX format on Object TeX engine extension.
TeXOptions options = TeXOptions.consoleAppOptions(TeXConfig.objectLaTeX());
// Specify the file system working directory for the output.
options.setOutputWorkingDirectory(new OutputFileSystemDirectory(Utils.getOutputDirectory()));
// Initialize the options for saving in XPS format.
options.setSaveOptions(new XpsSaveOptions());
// Run LaTeX to XPS conversion.
new TeXJob(Utils.getInputDirectory() + "hello-world.tex", new XpsDevice(), options).run();
LaTeX What is LaTeX File Format
LaTeX is a TeX format if said briefly. LaTeX files are plain text files written in their own markup language. They may require the inclusion of other data like images and/or other LaTeX files. LaTeX provides you with plenty of advanced features to create tables, include graphics, write math equations and formulas, etc. All these features are available in so-called packages.
XPS What is XPS File Format
XPS format is similar to PDF format. Both are page description language (PDL) formats. EPS is based on HTML and not on PostScript language. The .eps file is capable to contain a markup of the document's structure along with the information on how the document would look like. There are also added instructions on how to print and render the document. The feature of the format is that it fixes the document's description which means that it will look the same no matter who and from what operational system opens it.
