Aspose.Total for .NET is a comprehensive suite of APIs that enables developers to easily convert CGM files to DIF within any .NET, C#, ASP.NET and VB.NET applications. The conversion process involves two steps. Firstly, Aspose.PDF for .NET is used to export the CGM file to XLSX. This API provides a wide range of features for manipulating PDF documents, including the ability to convert PDF files to other popular formats.
Once the CGM file has been converted to XLSX, Aspose.Cells for .NET can be used to convert the XLSX file to DIF. This Spreadsheet Programming API provides a comprehensive set of features for working with spreadsheets, including the ability to read, write, and convert between various spreadsheet formats. It also offers a range of features for manipulating and formatting spreadsheets, such as setting cell values, formatting cells, and adding charts and images.
Using Aspose.Total for .NET, developers can quickly and easily convert CGM files to DIF within any .NET, C#, ASP.NET and VB.NET applications. The two-step process involves using Aspose.PDF for .NET to export the CGM file to XLSX, and then using Aspose.Cells for .NET to convert the XLSX file to DIF. This comprehensive suite of APIs provides developers with a powerful set of tools for working with PDF and spreadsheet documents.

Conversion Requirements
Install from command line as nuget install Aspose.Total
or via Package Manager Console of Visual Studio with Install-Package Aspose.Total
.
Alternatively, get the offline MSI installer or DLLs in a ZIP file from downloads .
// supports PDF, CGM, EPUB, TeX, PCL, PS, SVG, XPS, MD, MHTML, XML, and XSLFO file format
// load PDF as input file format with an instance of Document class
var document = new Document("template.pdf");
// save document in XLSX format
document.Save("excel_output.xlsx", Aspose.Pdf.SaveFormat.Xlsx);
// load the XLSX file in an instance of Workbook
var book = new Workbook("excel_output.xlsx");
// supports XLSB, XLSM, XLT, XLTX, XLTM, XLAM, CSV, TSV, TXT, ODS, DIF, MD, SXC, and FODS file format
// save input document as CSV
book.Save("output.csv", Aspose.Cells.SaveFormat.Auto); |
Convert Protected CGM to DIF via C#
If your CGM document is password protected, you cannot convert it to DIF without the password. Using the API, you can first open the protected document using a valid password and convert it after it. In order to open the encrypted file, you can initialize a new instance of the Document class and pass the filename and password as arguments.
// supports PDF, CGM, EPUB, TeX, PCL, PS, SVG, XPS, MD, MHTML, XML, and XSLFO input file formats
// open password protected PDF document
Document doc = new Document("input.pdf", "Your@Password");
// save document in XLSX format
document.Save("excel_output.xlsx", Aspose.Pdf.SaveFormat.Xlsx);
// load the XLSX file in an instance of Workbook
var book = new Workbook("excel_output.xlsx");
// supports XLSB, XLSM, XLT, XLTX, XLTM, XLAM, CSV, TSV, TXT, ODS, DIF, MD, SXC, and FODS file format
// save input document as CSV
book.Save("output.csv", Aspose.Cells.SaveFormat.Auto); |
Convert CGM File to DIF with Watermark via C#
While converting CGM file to DIF, you can also add watermark to your output DIF file format. In order to add a watermark, you can create a new Workbook object and open the converted XLSX document, select Worksheet via its index, create a Shape and use its AddTextEffect function. After that you can save your XLSX document as DIF with Watermark.
// supports PDF, CGM, EPUB, TeX, PCL, PS, SVG, XPS, MD, MHTML, XML, and XSLFO file format
// load PDF as input file format with an instance of Document class
var document = new Document("template.pdf");
// save document in XLSX format
document.Save("excel_output.xlsx", Aspose.Pdf.SaveFormat.Xlsx);
// load the XLSX file in an instance of Workbook
var book = new Workbook("excel_output.xlsx");
// get the first default sheet
var sheet = book.Worksheets[0];
// add a new shape to ShapesCollection of Worksheet
var wordart = sheet.Shapes.AddTextEffect(Aspose.Cells.Drawing.MsoPresetTextEffect.TextEffect1,
"CONFIDENTIAL", "Arial Black", 50, false, true, 18, 8, 1, 1, 130, 800);
// supports XLSB, XLSM, XLT, XLTX, XLTM, XLAM, CSV, TSV, TXT, ODS, DIF, MD, SXC, and FODS file format
// save input document as CSV
book.Save("output.csv", Aspose.Cells.SaveFormat.Auto); |
Transforming CGM File to DIF Programmatically : Use Cases
The conversion of CGM files into DIF formats is necessary to unlock the full potential of your vector graphics and illustration capabilities. This conversion enables you to:
Use Cases:
- Vector Graphics Editing: Convert CGM files to edit and manipulate vector graphics, creating precise shapes and lines.
- Illustration Design: Use DIF formats to create professional-looking illustrations, with fine control over line widths, styles, and colors.
- Architectural Visualization: Convert CGM files to visualize architectural designs, create 2D and 3D models, and communicate design intent effectively.
- Graphic Design and Publishing: Use DIF formats to prepare vector graphics for printing, with high-quality output and precise line work.
