Make DOC in Java programmatically

With our Java library developers can easily make DOC from scratch. To do this, Java developers need to perform just a few steps:

  1. Add file name
  2. Start creating a DOC document using Java
  3. Save the output DOC file

It is worth noting that a blank document is technically supposed to contain one paragraph, so when you programmatically create a DOC document, you will get exactly that basic document structure.

Note that you can instantly add content to a newly created DOC file. Thus, you will get not just an empty document, but a document containing the necessary content. For more information on how to edit a document, see the Editing page.

Create DOC in Java

This Java library allows you to programmatically create DOC documents. Try our powerful functionality and see how to create DOC using the following example:

Make a new DOC using Java
Select the target format from the list
Run code
import com.aspose.words.*;

Document doc = new Document();
DocumentBuilder builder = new DocumentBuilder(doc);

Font font = builder.getFont();
font.setName("Courier New");
font.setColor(Color.BLUE);
font.setSize(36);
font.setHighlightColor(Color.YELLOW);

builder.write("Morbi enim nunc faucibus a.");

doc.save("Output.doc");
import com.aspose.words.*; Document doc = new Document(); DocumentBuilder builder = new DocumentBuilder(doc); Run firstRun = new Run(doc, "Proin eros metus, sagittis sed. "); Run secondRun = new Run(doc, "Morbi enim nunc faucibus a."); doc.getFirstSection().getBody().getFirstParagraph().appendChild(firstRun); doc.getFirstSection().getBody().getFirstParagraph().appendChild(secondRun); builder.moveTo(secondRun); builder.startBookmark("Aspose bookmark"); // If NextSibling is null, then most likely this is the last Run in the Paragraph. if (secondRun.getNextSibling() != null) builder.moveTo(secondRun.getNextSibling()); else builder.moveTo(secondRun.getParentParagraph()); builder.endBookmark("Aspose bookmark"); doc.save("Output.doc"); import com.aspose.words.*; Document doc = new Document(); DocumentBuilder builder = new DocumentBuilder(doc); Run firstRun = new Run(doc, "Proin eros metus, sagittis sed. Java library to create DOC

We host our Java packages in Maven repositories. 'Aspose.Words for Java' is a common JAR file containing byte-code. Please follow the step-by-step instructions on how to install it to your Java developer environment.

System Requirements

Java SE 7 and more recent Java versions are supported. We also provide a separate package for Java SE 6 in case you are obliged to use this outdated JRE.

Our Java package is cross-platform and runs on all operating systems with JVM implementation, including Microsoft Windows, Linux, macOS, Android and iOS.

For information on optional package dependencies, such as JogAmp JOGL, Harfbuzz font engine, Java Advanced Imaging JAI, please refer to Product Documentation.
